Norman appoints new CEO

The Norwegian IT-security company announces the appointment of Trygve Aasland as new CEO. Aasland (41) was previously a director at Tandberg ASA.

Trygve Aasland succeeds Henning Hansen as the new CEO of Norman ASA. He has considerable experience from marketing and sales in the IT industry. His latest position included the development of Tandberg's market positioning in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Norman joins Secure IT Alliance

Computer security company Norman has teamed up with Secure IT Alliance, a new consortium that links security partners working on Microsoft platforms.

Secure IT Alliance was created October this year with the intention of developing security solutions for Microsoft platforms. The alliance consists of a co-marketing program designed to enable various information technology companies to collaboratively promote solutions designed to improve the security of Microsoft's family of Windows desktop, Windows Server System and Office systems.

Norman works for increased public understanding of IT security threats

Norman has joined Common Malware Enumeration (CME), an international organisation that works for common definitions of new virus threats in order to reduce public confusion during malware outbreaks.

CME consists of several security organisations who aim to facilitate the adaptation of a shared, neutral capability for malware.

Growth and improved margins for Norman

Norman ASA, the Norwegian data security company, experienced a growth in revenue of 12 percent in the third quarter, compared to the same period last year. This was the ninth consecutive quarter with double digit growth. Adjusted for the appreciation of the Norwegian krone actual growth was 17 percent. Norman's margins improved even further. In the third quarter, the company achieved an EBITDA margin of 22 percent, compared to last year's 18 percent.

Norman Virus Control receives 100% Virus Bulletin award for Windows 2003

The renowned Virus Bulletin Magazine has tested antivirus solutions for Windows 2003 advanced servers and Norman Virus Control has once again received 100 % award. This is the 30th 100 % award that Norman receives for its security solutions.

With no specific date set for the launch of Windows Vista, Windows 2003 server remains the most recent server platform at the moment and for the foreseeable future. Due to that Virus Bulletin Magazine's latest antivirus test was performed on this server.
